The Longest Post Ever!

Prepare yourself, go grab a coffee, have your cigarette.. Cause i have been very very buisy!

Well, lets start off with Sunday. My CoP static usualy meets on Sundays. This includes Forty ;). And I was sure not to leave him behind this time lol. But that would require Gathering the static up, and going back through 8.1-8.3.

The static usualy meets at @8pm east on Sundays. This wasnt nearly enough time to get through 8.1-8.3 so that the rest of the members would be able to make progress as well.

My solution was to grab even more people that need 8.1-8.3 lol. That and to start at 12:00 (noon). And my static members would join us (since they were mostly on the pots BC) as they logged on.

Since 2/5 members of the static had already beaten the pots BC we needed to find 3 more members that needed the fight as well. Obviously this was not a problem ;) most statics break once they reach 8.1.

And this allowed me to help some very good friends of mine through this. Braveheart, and Seraphpdh.

By the time were suposed to meet, only forty and i were there. Since Forty was the only person who needed 8.1 completed, we went out and cashed in a few favors lol. Luckily, Fishura was not very far behind us, he was to log on just before we were to head out. We ended up having 6 people there to take on 8.1 for Forty.

8.1 is quite short, and no real worry.

8.2 followed right after. At this time Braveheart logged on ;) And he had 2 freinds that wanted to tag along for 8.2 as well. It was perfect timing realy lol. And as it worked out we had a great setup for 8.3 with his friends.

Since Seraphpdh and Fishura were there, our map dudes from last week, we rocketed through 8.2 and 8.3.

So all of us had our lights, and 2 brands needed to do the pots BC. Very cool lol. Not only that but everyone was on as well. All 5 members of our static.

But back to the pots BC. This was my first time i actualy got to fight this without being plagued by DC's. Our Line up was:

MNK
PLD
RDM
BLM
BLM
BST

After going over the strat i put together, we set up our SC and went to work.

SUCCESS!!

And Now for Promethia!! This time i was sure to not let the Static get split up. lol, not again. All 5 members of the static plus a BLM was to go in first.

We decided to treat the first form of Promethia like a normal fight.... which was a huge mistake. I went down fast, i mean within the first 3 minutes. And i only recovered about 10 minute later. Had to use 4 RR2 charges from my gorget, and take a R1 durring that fight. Hell most the time i was kiting Weakend. We shouldve just let Prische Tank the fight. She is realy realy hardcore lol.

But im pretty sure that i was able to kite with /war at just the right times, for just the right duration of time to get Prische back up to full HP. I realy wasnt happy with my performance... to be brutaly honest. It was very poor. But kiting is something i realy dont have much experience in. I mean at all. Not unless you count running to a zone line ;)

That and I am pretty sure the rumors are right about this fight. Sometimes Promethia spams AoE (which he did for us) and sometimes he just wont.

On any note, he hits for about 200 damage per normal hit!

Kiting on PLD or just letting Prische tank is preferable.

Somewhere in the second form, Forty went down as well. Hell, everyone had to RR during that fight lol. I only mentioned Forty because he accidentaly HPed instead of RR.

Can you imagine that? Traveling all the way through chapter 8 in one night only to accidentaly HP on Promethia????

ahahahahahah Now thats funny!

No matter, the whole static vowed to get through this by Labor Day! And i had a second group almost ready to go! lol (I Love it When a Plan Comes Together)

Despite being 5/6 on Promethia, with everyone weakend. We won!!

And after calling another blm down as a replacement, we got a total of 10 people though chapter 8 and past Promethia!!

I still love that, 10 people lol.

The second group had a much easier time with Promethia than we did. Seraphpdh was in that party as Paladin, so i cannot realy tell what went on during that fight. But im told that there was much much less AoE issues the second time around.

Yes, all of that happened on Sunday lol.

Lets move on to Monday.

Monday I gathered all my CS's up to and including my Ring! Which Ring did i choose? Sattva!

As a career Paladin, this is the ring i want. No question. I dont have an attatchment to any other job than Paladin. They just dont feal right. I dont feal as attached to the fight, not as active as when i am Paladin. So, thats why i went for the Sattva lol

For those of you who dont know what Sattva is, i dont blame you there arent many of them around, the stats are:

HP 15-30
VIT 1-5
AGI 1-5
Emnity +3

its pretty much the best PLD ring in the game (outside defending ring), and i am extremely happy with my choice.

It was realy a no brainer for me. But for Seraphpdh it was a real struggle. He simply couldnt make up his mind, lol it was realy comical in many ways. But he eventualy settled on Sattva as well.

Moving on to Tuesday:

lol, today i finished up all of the CS's required for ZM17 and the Bahamut fight. That way i am 100% prepared for it when the occasion arrises. Yet another good thing XD

not much else happened that day lol

Wedndsday:

Well, despite being 4.5k away from capped exp (due to Sunday) I didnt want to exp. The semester starts today. And i wanted to end the Summer Vacation on a high note!

That and I was getting tired of being made fun of for not having Savage Blade yet lol. So, i decided to get some points on the trial sword while camping Charby.

While doing so, Fishura was kind enough to come by lol. Its nice having company during this camping. That and he wanted to unlock a latent on a katana as well.

Not long after that Octa came by on BRD. XD thankyou Octa.

While camping away, Fishura's and Vapors application was accepted into BBQplatinum. It was a bit rocky getting yet another 2 RDM main players into the linkshell. But lets just say they got lucky, and are now in their trial period. And i am very happy! lol.

While camping charby some thing very...interesting happend to me. Something i never thought would do lol. I gave some Gillies a raise when they died to a link. Well it wasnt a selfless act of kindness, i hear the Gillies around Charby will help with the fight. So it pays to be nice to them.

Sure enough, after i gave them a raise, they offered their assistance on the Charby NM. I didnt even have to ask XD.

Fast forward 6 more hours, not a single other camper came by. Not one. I was starting to get worried, i mean i could be camping in the middle of a no pop time.

But one pop later, there he was. Charbdylis!!

I sent a tell out to those friendly gillies, and they came running. A NIN and a WHM. I must say, the NIN was quite good. However the WHM suuuuuuuuucked

Not once did the whm haste the 2 nins there. The cures were way way too late. he just... sucked lol. And we whiped 2X before i sent the call out for the calvary.

I try not to bother LS's for things. Its just not my style. I prefer to be resourseful, without bothering to many people. That and i wasnt sure if i would get the crappy, "I'll come only if i can Lot" remark. But with that whm, there was no way we would beat charby.

I was shocked, within minutes 6 BBQ members were there. 2 nin, a brd, a whm, a blm, a rdm. I was on the ouside of it all, tossing a cure here and there.

Sure enough they just owned charby. lol. i mean completely owned him!

And they all passed on the Joyeuse! God im loving this LS more and more every day!

Now i can sell the extra Company sword i have in my DD setup and put it towards a Snipers. Ill get a second snipers while im at it ;)

I think i can finaly switch to eating meat with that setup. and the only thing im missing for my /nin DD and Tank setup will be a few peices of haste gear.

AWESOME!!

lol, congradulations to all that made it through that post ;)

Congratulations on your push through sea so quickly, there should be more people like you #1. 10 people with a clear b/c of your hard work, impressive. Grats on the Joytoy also. We had a paladin straight tank Promathia, I think one of the things that helped us through it was the large mp pool of our whm, lol.

Yeah, on the second Promathia run I decided to Chicken out and if hate wasn't on the NPC I was kiting the boss around Earth Staff style. It worked nice, and kept the damage from meteor down to a minimum, since usually only I would get hit, and I think there was a cast where he missed everyone entirely. At the end of the fight, we were both AoE super silenced and had Amnesia, but luckily the NPCs finished the job for us.

Definately not the worst CoP fight out there, but I wouldn't take it for granted either.

Congrats on your Joyeuse by the way, let me know how the damage output compares to a Company sword endgame, I am curious to see the difference.

grats on your joy. Luckily, this character had one so all I lost on RDM was a Gambu Shield.

Meh, no matter I play BLM and SMN more than RDM now. I don't know if Vagus came down for Charby but I do know he loves that fight, back when I was in Envy I camped it and he was the 1st to poke his head into SSG when I made the call out for reinforcements.

dang, I even have a pic of my Charby fight! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/stringztoo/Screenshots/Gorokai/charby.jpg

grats, I'm hoping to drag some LS members into the Empyreal Paradox this weekend for my Tamas... who just quits on the last fight?!

no clue why it's cutting it short, maybe this will work?

btw, about company sword vs. justice sword I have no earthly idea! I have never swung a single sword while playing PLD.

All I know is it hits pretty hard and I would say the multi swing happens about 80% of the time.

Auronku told me Joy>Justice, which is prolly true since it hits harder, faster, and needs no ammo. But I'm not in an either/or situation. I'll always use joy when single wielding, but I'm alot happier with Justice in off-hand now instead of Garuda's Dagger!
